Beginning in August, you will no longer need to wait in line to pay a parking attendant when exiting the River’s Edge Convention Center East Parking Ramp (located under the building). Two pay stations have been installed - one in the stairwell of the ramp and one in the lobby of the Convention Center. As you park in the ramp, you will see that each parking stall has been assigned a number. This number is used when paying at the pay station. To pay, just follow the directions on the machine. The pay stations accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit cards and coins (no paper currency). You will receive a printed receipt.
Additionally the City removed several of the parking meters for on street parking and installed parking pay stations at various locations in downtown. Each of these parking stalls is now designated with a ’space marker’ that notes the parking stall number. Again, the stall number is used when paying at any pay station. The pay stations are conveniently located within a half block of any space marker and are easy to use. Simply follow the directions noted on the machine. The pay stations accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit cards and coins (no paper currency).
The City is also offering the ParkMobile app that allows parkers a simple, convenient and safe way to pay for parking using a mobile device. This app takes the place of a parker having to use a pay station. The app works for over 3, 500 parking stalls in downtown St. Cloud (on street parking and parking ramps). The app is capable of alerting the parker when their time is set to expire and provides the option of extending the time. Click here to learn more about the ParkMobile app.
There are still a number of parking meters in operation in downtown, mostly in surface parking lots. These meters will be eventually replaced with stall markers and parkers will utilize pay stations to make payment.
Lastly, parking rates for on street parking, surface lot parking and parking ramps were increased effective April 1, 2020. If you are parking in the River’s Edge East Parking Ramp (below the Convention Center), the rate is $7.00 for 24 hours of parking. It is a flat rate no matter how long you park in the ramp. The parking rate is effective 24/7 including weekends.
